Why I stopped entering for the Headies, says Vector

igerian rapper, Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, professionally known as Vector, in a series of tweet revealed why he stopped entering for the Nigeria most prestigious music awards, the Headies. Vector on his twitter page said he stopped entering for the Headies award because he does not want to compete with other rappers, and his action would allow new people win the awards, as he was once a recipient of the Headies award. His tweet: “As for the Headies. I stopped entering for it because I don’t want to compete with rappers. (I can easily beat them on a one on one but that was Unilag). I am grown now. Awards actually don’t mean anything to me anymore. Let new people win awards. “I intentionally removed myself from the idea that I have to outdo mode9. It’s not necessary. Ask him about me in the studio and he will tell you. I don’t care about clout… I just want to make music. Fuck money too. That shit comes and goes anyway. “Make Hennessy tell una how much my deal is worth as a rapper? Lol. But that’s not me. I can brag but it only bring S more fake people around you anyways. Stay humble and live easy. Accolades are just accolades. Peace to everybody who deserves peace.” Popular TV host, Frank Edoho in his response to Vector’s tweet, said the rapper does not need to explain himself to people that do not know what Hip Hop music is all about. “You do not need to explain yourself, especially to people who don’t know Hip Hop Music. True aficionados of the culture know who you really are-the definition of unparalleled artistry and extemporaneous lyricism!”
